I periodically run oldies Clips Quizzes over at rec.music.rock-pop-r+b.1950s. Most have themes as indicated by the title, and the clips are generally from the '50s through the early '60s. I enjoy making these quiz clips as it's like playing with old friends. There is a small core of the above group's regulars that usually play, time permitting, though it'd be nice to have more participants. I'm also sure the regulars would appreciate more competition. No prizes involved, it's all for fun.

I knew it had been quite a while since I last posed a Clips Quiz, but didn't realize that it has been a year and a half. And being that it's been so long, I guess I got carried away with the number of clips in the quiz.
Anyway, here is a Leaving the Break Clips Quiz, where the break ends, just before a lyric starts. There are 38 clips, and by popular demand, the clips are in alphabetical order by the artist's first name or adjective, but not “the.” Artists are only represented once, except for one. (see * below) Lyric searches are generally not in the spirit of the quiz, but I'll sanction them this time.
I think many clips should be very easy to identify, primarily because of their probable familiarity, but hopefully some will be a bit harder. Two of the clips were participants in the just completed 1951 Singles Battle.
* One of the artists in the quiz is actually playing on another clip in the contest. (Thanks to a recent Who's Got A Birthday Today). Also, one artist may be missorted using a name with a group.
You get one point for each correct song and one point for each correct artist. I'll respond to your guesses, and you could resubmit your entry based on my feedback. E-mail your answers to me at BreakClips@MarcDashevsky.com.
