Risque Songs Quiz ================= From: "Steve Mc" Newsgroups: rec.music.rock-pop-r+b.1950s Subject: Risque Clips Quiz Results Message-ID: Date: Fri, 29 Nov 2002 15:30:17 GMT Thanks to Bill, Marc, Mark, Rick and Cathy for playing. I hope others at least listened. Marc and Mark tied at 36, Rick had 31, Bill had 29, and Cathy had 20. I sure hope I have the tallies correct -- I seem to not be able to count sometimes. Many of the clips were correctly guessed by all, and a few of the clips went unidentified. Only Rick got #03) only Marc got #11, and only Mark got #25 The breakdown, plus some comments, follows each of the clips. I realize some of these are not techniquely risque, but I felt those particular parts fit. Thanks again to all who played. Comments are appreciated. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ #01) It Feels So Good - Swallows B MK #02) Sixty Minute Man - Dominos R #03) Don't Stop Dan - Checkers #04) So Young - Clyde Stacy ( & the Nitecaps) BR K #05) Bicycle Tillie - Swallows BR MK #06) Don't Let Go - Roy Hamilton BRCMK #07) Mama He Treats Your Daughter Mean - Ruth Brown BRCMK #08) Shake Rattle & Roll - Joe Turner BRCMK #09) Shake Rattle & Roll - Elvis Presley br MK #10) Big Legged Woman - Jerry Lee Lewis M #11) Banana In Your Fruit Basket - Bo Carter BRCMK #12) Big Long Sliding Thing - Dinah Washington BR MK #13) Wasn't That Good - Wynonie Harris BRCMK #14) Big Ten Inch Record - Moose Jackson BRCMK #15) It Ain't The Meat - Swallows R MK #16) Feelin' Good - Little Junior's Blue Flames BRCMK #17) Feels So Good - Shirley & Lee BRCMK #18) Long John Blues - Dinah Washington #19) Last of the Good Rocking Men - 4 Jacks BRCMK #20) Love Is Strange - Mickey & Sylvia #21) I Believe To My Soul - Ray Charles Mk #22) Mother Foyer - Dirty Red #23) Think Twice(X) - Jackie Wilson & LaVerne Baker Mk #24) From Four Until Late - Robert Johnson K #25) Cocksucker's Ball - Clovers BRCMK #26) Work With Me Annie - Royals ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Key: B == Bill Bugge R == Rick Schubert C == Cathy Doyle M == Marc Dashevsky K == Mark Dintenfass Lower case letter indicates entrant IDed either artist or title. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Comments: 23. I'm not sure where I got this on-line. The engineer actually opens it with "Think Twice -- version X, ha-ha-ha." This clip was probably the tamest part of the song. 24. First time I heard it was Cream's version. I found another nice version on WinMx. It was tagged as Peter Green (I'm assuming this is Fleetwood Mac's original guitarist, does anyone know for sure?) and Nigel Watson?, but it's primarily piano. 25. IIRC, this was a surprise placement on one of Bruce's tapes from a few years ago. Thanks, Bruce. Also, pretty neat how I got The Good Pumpkin to subconsciously give a hint for this to Bill, Marc, Rick and Cathy a day before the quiz ended.
